Registration and Compliance

Nature Trust is a charitable organization that has been duly registered under the Indian Trust Act of 1882. This registration ensures that the organization is legally recognized and permitted to operate within the framework of Indian law.

Tax Documentation and Exemptions

In compliance with the Indian Income Tax Act, Nature Trust possesses all essential documents, including a Permanent Account Number (PAN). Furthermore, the organization has secured 12A status, which makes it eligible for tax relief. Additionally, under section 80G of the Income Tax Act, contributions made to Nature Trust are entitled to tax deductions, benefiting donors.

NGO Darpan and Foreign Contributions

Nature Trust has extended its legitimacy and transparency by registering with the NGO DARPAN Portal, which is an initiative by the Government of India. This registration enhances the organization's credibility and allows for smoother coordination with various government programs. Moreover, the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, has authorized Nature Trust to receive foreign contributions in adherence to the Foreign Contributions Regulation Act (FCRA), enabling it to secure international funding for its charitable endeavors.

  1. Educational Qualifications: Ms. R. Abirami holds a Postgraduate degree in Business Administration, showcasing her academic prowess and dedication to higher education.
  2. Early Career: She commenced her professional journey as a guest lecturer at a leading University in Tamilnadu, contributing to the academic development of students with her expertise.

Personal Commitment to Social Causes

  1. Family and Community Service: Opting to resign from her academic position, Ms. Abirami dedicated herself to the care of her son with special needs, demonstrating a deep personal commitment to family and social service.
  2. Community Engagement: Coming from a most backward community, she has been actively involved with voluntary organizations, working as a training facilitator for health and livelihood programs.

Founding of Nature Trust

  1. Venturing into Non-Profit Leadership: Leveraging her accumulated knowledge and experience, Ms. Abirami founded Nature Trust alongside her friends, aspiring to create an organization that makes a tangible difference in the community.
  2. Leadership Role: As the Chief Functionary and Managing Trustee, she leads the organization with a focus on strategic direction, program development, and operational management.

  1. Professional Development: Ms. Abhirami successfully completed a drama therapy program specializing in supporting individuals with disabilities. She is a lifelong learner who has participated in state and national level workshops and seminars. Her focus areas in professional development include disability rights and support, skill training, project management, and self-help group facilitation.
  2. Knowledge Expansion: She also completed Master of Education in School Administration. Her ongoing engagement in various training sessions continues to enrich her knowledge and expertise, which she channels into the effective governance of Nature Trust.

Ms. R. Abirami embodies the values of leadership, lifelong learning, and unwavering dedication to social improvement. As the chief architect behind Nature Trust, she continues to drive the organization forward, touching the lives of many and inspiring change through her passionate commitment to the Trust's mission.

Financial Governance and Qualifications

Ms. Sharmila Devi, serving as the Financial Trustee, brings her expertise as a qualified social worker to oversee the financial aspects of the trust. Alongside her, the other trustees are also well-qualified, holding various graduate and postgraduate degrees. Their collective qualifications and dedication are directed toward the empowerment of impoverished communities, aiming to enhance their socio-economic, cultural, educational, and health status.

Objectives

  1. To undertake all activities on Nature Centric that promotes the social, economic, education, health, environment and cultural development of rural community in India,
  2. To create awareness on environment, ecology, organic farming, indigenous seeds and plants for protection of the resource based for a happy and healthy life of the community,
  3. To help the students and dropouts of weaker section in pursuing their studies supporting their education and to build capacity in sports and games,

To empower underprivileged children through quality education by providing comprehensive educational support, including schooling, training programs for working children, and boarding and lodging facilities for physically challenged students ensuring educational access, skill development, and a safe learning environment for all children.
  5. To enhance the well-being of vulnerable children through holistic support by offering essential services like sponsorships for food security, boarding and lodging facilities for physically challenged children, and other necessary provisions to improve their quality of life, stability, and overall well-being.
  6. To empower orphaned and vulnerable youth to lead independent lives through education, skills training, and mentorship.
  7. To enhance the overall well-being of individuals with disabilities by providing access to healthcare, rehabilitation, and social inclusion opportunities.
  8. To promote healthy aging and ensure the comfort and independence of elderly individuals through personalized care and community support."

  10. To organize women, youth and children into Sangam, Self Help Groups and federate them at a village, panchayat, block, district and state level for there all round developments

  12. To access micro loans from the financial institutions under government institutions and the provided micro credit for men and women for their entrepreneurship activities

To involve activities like organizing meetings, seminars, conferences, legal aid support, facilitating the social and economic initiatives like self employment in agriculture category, goat rearing, poultry farming, village industries and on-farm and off-farm enterprises for self reliance and social economic of lift of all the disadvantage people respective of caste, creed, colour and community,

The Trust operates with a lean structure, currently employing two staff members who manage the day-to-day activities. In addition to its core staff, Nature Trust also engages a network of dedicated volunteers. These volunteers are instrumental in implementing various developmental programs, allowing the Trust to extend its reach and effectiveness in the community.
